Strengthening community’s resilience and capacity in disaster risk reduction (DRR) at Mai Hich commune, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province

This one year project (from May 2013 to April 2014) contribute to build a safe
community and equitable resilience to disaster risk with capable taskforce and
upgraded infrastructure system after natural disaster in Mai Hich commune, Mai
Chau district, Hoa Binh province

   
The project support Mai Hich’s residents to improve their
knowledge and skills on preparedness and response to natural disaster,
contribute to promote awareness and consciousness of people on consequences of
natural disaster, global climate change, negative impacts will come to their
daily life in order to reduce less damage to houses, crops and landslides and
local people will be protected from loss of life.

The project support to improve the effectiveness
of the preparedness and response to natural disaster, contributing to
mitigating the consequences of natural disaster, supporting the vulnerable
households to have stable life, gain confidence and enjoy equal life.

The Project Proposal aiming to improve effectiveness of
preparedness, resilience and response to natural disaster, it will clearly
contribute to risk reduction to damages of households, thereby reducing impact
to gender inequality problem. At the same time, in the project activities there
will be integrated and emphasized priority on gender equality,  involving and attracting women’ participation
in project activities in order to gradually improve their role and position in
their families and in the society.
