The project integrated communication on health care, particularly HIV/AIDS prevention and reproductive health care into poverty reduction for community development in Tien luong commune with a population of 5,685 residents. This two-phased project (2007-2011) was supported by the Bread of the World.

In the area of health care, the project strengthened access to public health services, to  gender-based health education and communication, particularly in HIV/AIDS prevention for community people including vulnerable groups such as young males and females, children affected by HIV/AIDS. The project also provided reach and care and support service to communal people living with HIV, orphans and vulnerable children and their family members.
Regarding poverty reduction, the project improved capacity of households in ensuring food security by applying science and technology progress in agricultural cultivation and in non-farming economic development models. These activities took into consideration local situations and be environment friendly when improving quality of product and economic effectiveness.
In the context of climate change, the project  promoted communication activities to increase awareness and knowledge for community people about possible impact of this issue on their cultivation and livelihood as well as discuss about their potential response measures.
