Protecting Urban Livelihoods From Climate Change – Building Heat Stress Resilience Amongst Da Nang’s Most Vulnerable Workers
The overall goal of the project is to build resilience amongst vulnerable workers in Da Nang City to the expected impacts of climate change-induced heat stress.
This three year project aims to:
Raise awareness and increase
knowledge on the health impacts, principally heat stress, threatening
urban workers as a result of rising temperatures and increases in the
frequency and severity of heat waves. Design, pilot and disseminate
interventions over two consecutive summer periods which build resilience
and protect workers from heat in the workplace.
Enhance the knowledge of
policy makers and enterprise operators of the economic cots of heat stress
Contribute towards a national agenda on heat
stress prevention, workplace safety and health with a focus on livelihood
protection for vulnerable workers, through policy recommendation
