On December 2-3, the 5th National Scientific Conference on HIV/AIDS was organized in Hanoi to response for World AIDS Day 2013
With the support from COHED center, leading representatives for 31 community-based organizations (CBOs) of People Living with HIV and HIV/AIDS vulnerable population groups from HaiPhong, Bac Kan, Nghe An and VungTau provinces, have had the chance to actively attend the Conference.
The subject of the5th National Scientific Conference was “Towards zero new HIV infections”. The conference included nearly 100 science reports and six satellite meetings, that focused on: HIV voluntary counseling and testing in communities; solutions for HIV/AIDS prevention strategies in Vietnam; HIV/AIDS around the world and Asia; an overview of HIV/AIDS in Vietnam 2010 – 2013 and the forecast for the epidemics in Vietnam in the coming years.
35 COHED-supported delegates created the highly attractive booths at the Exhibition Center of Conference with a great variety of self-made HIV/AIDS communicational materials and livelihoods products. This is the great opportunity for them to strengthen their knowledge on HIV/AIDS prevention and care and support and their networking.
