COHED’s mission is to improve the lives of Vietnam’s most vulnerable groups and people by contributing to economic development and the social well- being of the community via capacity building, health education and other interventions.
COHED offers integrated measures targeting high-risk populations, including intravenous injecting drug users (IDUs, in rehabilitation centres and in community), female sex workers (FSWs) men having sex with men (MSM), primary sexual partners of the IDUs and PLHIV (PSPs) as well as the general population to reduce the risk of HIV transmission.
COHED has honed its expertise in working with rural farmer groups in Dong Thanh and Xuan Hoa (Thai Binh Province), Mai Hich Commune (Hoa Binh) and Tien Luong Commune (Phu Tho Province) through three different projects supported by the Bread for the World, Misereor.
COHED has been dedicated to advocating on behalf of and delivery of high quality HIV prevention, care and support services contributing to improving the quality of life of individuals living with and affected by HIV/AIDS since 2004
COHED provided support for H’mong and Red Dao groups in the northern mountainous area of Ta Van Commune, Sapa District, Lao Cai Province
